The trip to Birmingham was very productive and we managed to get some fabrics that are suitable for the collection. The large amount of interesting and crazy street art scattered around the city provided more ideas for our pieces, especially for accents and linings.
We also took the time to visit the River Island flagship store in the Bullring shopping centre to get more of a feel for how their collections relate to each other. We decided that it was essential to add a tailored suit to the collection, as we felt it was a must have for a River Island men collaboration. After the trip was over, we started researching how to design and construct the suit.
Alongside deciding to add a suit to the collection, we had a group meeting to finalise the detailing on each of the outfits we were planning. This week felt good compared to the last couple – we made a lot of progress, especially with getting the fabrics and the colour scheme decided. There’s still a lot of work to do though, the workload and pressure is still very high.
