Passionate Fashion Designer/Bartender/Adventurer & Backpacker
We came back from the Christmas break to some bad news. One member of our group decided to drop out of the course which always makes things more difficult, but with two weeks until the deadline it was just awful timing. Although we weren’t required to manufacture her outfit, the illustrations, spec drawings and design development for that part of the collection. Having to divide that between fewer team members meant that there was an even higher workload and more unnecessary pressure to overcome.
Most of the week was spent cutting out our original garment from the chosen fabrics and ordering parts for them. Ordering the prints for linings etc mostly went okay, although one of them turned out to be low quality and pixelated (I can’t remember who’s this was, I assume glister’s lol). Getting the zips was an absolute nightmare. We were unable to order the ones we wanted, and after days of frantically searching and crying we managed to get a collection from anywhere and everywhere we could.
I think this week was the worst one so far. Having a team member drop out and problems with ordering parts for our collection made an already stressful week so much harder, and the pressure is really starting to mount.
